A minimum gift of $5 is required for a gift to be counted toward ROAR Day. A minimum gift of $50 is required for an RIT blanket.
The following gifts count toward ROAR Day:
To receive an RIT blanket,, you must make a gift or pledge payment of $50 or more by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on October 2, 2026, and select the RIT blanket as your thank-you gift.
The following gifts DO NOT qualify for the RIT blanket:

Yes. You can receive one RIT blanket for each ROAR Day gift of $50 or more.
To receive additional blankets, make an additional gift ($50 or more), using the same email and donor information for each gift. Be sure to select the RIT blanket as your thank-you gift each time.
No. A joint gift qualifies for one RIT blanket, regardless of how many donors are listed on the gift.
If you would like to receive multiple RIT blankets, please make an additional ROAR Day gift of $50 or more and select the RIT blanket as the thank-you gift.
RIT blankets will be shipped after ROAR Day ends. Please allow 3-5 weeks after the campaign closes for your blanket to arrive.
Blankets can be shipped to U.S. domestic addresses only.

Yes. You can choose any designation that is active and available on the ROAR Day giving site. If the designation you’d like to support is not available, please contact us at impact@rit.edu. We’ll be happy to help identify the best way to direct your gift.
Yes. The ROAR Day site allows you to select multiple designations. Please follow the instructions on the gift form to allocate your gift.
Yes. For gifts made through the ROAR Day site, you will receive an immediate email confirmation that serves as your official RIT gift receipt. Gifts made by mail or other methods will receive an official RIT gift receipt shortly after the gift is processed.
RIT, under IRS law, qualifies as a charitable and tax-exempt organization. If you make a charitable gift to RIT, you may take an income tax deduction.
Under current law, donations to charitable organizations are tax deductible only for taxpayers who itemize. For itemizers, such donations generally reduce taxable income and, therefore, federal income tax liability. RIT recommends you consult with a tax advisor when attempting to claim a charitable deduction. For more information, please visit the IRS website.
