Floss Boss

About

Floss Boss invites players to become a tiny shrimp hero tasked with scrubbing and flossing the massive teeth of a lake monster gone wild. Using oversized toothbrush and flosser controllers, players physically brush and floss in real time to defeat scuds, creating a playful, high-energy, full-body experience that’s impossible to replicate with traditional game controls.

This experimental game was created by a collaborative team of students from RIT’s New Media Design and New Media Interactive Development programs. It has been selected for alt.ctrl.GDC 2026 — an internationally recognized showcase celebrating unconventional games and custom controllers at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Showcasing at alt.ctrl.GDC allows us to represent student innovation on a global stage, where custom toothbrush and flosser controllers demonstrate how physical interaction, tactile engagement, and playful scale can transform how games are played.
