Who are Grace Notes?

Grace Notes is a student-led Acapella group, primarily focused on jazz music. As the youngest group on campus, our focus is to be a place where students can grow their knowledge and experience with both the music genre and the art of acapella performance. Of course, this is on top of contributing our own sound and expression to the vibrant world of jazz!

We hold various events throughout the year, such as solo and collaborative performances and larger showcases, along with various group bonding activities. But Grace Notes is also completely student-led. The various needs of the group give students a chance to gain experience in many areas, including musical arrangement, finance management, and leadership collaboration among many other valuable skills. All our current pieces have been arranged by group members and we hold lessons throughout the year for any members interested in learning.

As the youngest Acapella group on campus, our current goal is to train our group to a higher standard, with the goal of potentially entering the International Championship of Collegiate A Capella in the future. Until then, we plan to continually expand our repertoire and continue to put on fun and engaging shows for the RIT community and greater Rochester area!
