Who is RIT ASCE?
The RIT ASCE Chapter is dedicated to the professional development and continued education of Civil engineering students at RIT. The chapter is deeply rooted into the civil engineering community of Rochester and beyond, competing annually at regional and national competitions that tests students' engineering and teamwork skills.
When the Steel Bridge, Concrete Canoe, and Sustainable Solutions teams aren’t working on their competition projects, members are participating in events on and around the RIT campus. These events include resume review sessions with local professionals, tours of local civil engineering jobsites and manufacturing plants, networking hours and social gathering with civil engineering in a multitude of fields, and many more opportunities for students to develop as this world's next up and coming engineering professional.
In 2025, ASCE sent the Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge teams to their respective national symposium competitions against other universities from across the US and Canada. This signified a strong leadership and technical ability from the chapter that hasn’t been seen in many years, one of many indicators of a strong student chapter here at RIT.
