Who are the Associated General Contractors of RIT?
The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is an organization of qualified construction contractors and industry-related companies dedicated to skill, integrity, and responsibility. AGC is the voice of the construction industry. Operating in partnership with its Chapters, the Association provides a full range of services satisfying the needs and concerns of its members, thereby improving the quality of construction and protecting the public interest.
Our chapter at RIT prioritizes foundational knowledge in Construction Management, including estimating, scheduling, risk management, and other related areas. We are dedicated to fostering a supportive community through networking, professional development, and educational opportunities. Software such as Bluebeam Revu and Revit is commonly used at our chapter.
Our weekly general body meetings connect students with local industry professionals, offering guest speakers, site tours, and opportunities to learn about real-world practices. AGC competes annually at The Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) regional competition in Albany, NY.
ASC is the professional association for the development and advancement of construction education, where the sharing of ideas and knowledge inspires, guides, and promotes excellence in curricula, teaching, research, and service. Our four teams, Commercial, Design-Build, Pre-Construction, and Open Problem, compete in tackling complex, real-world construction challenges alongside other regional schools.
