Who is Computer Science House (CSH)?
Computer Science House is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year. Founded in 1976, Computer Science House is RIT's oldest computer science-focused student organization. With over 1,500 alumni, including the creator of jQuery, Computer Science House has greatly contributed to the RIT community. All the way back in 1985, members of CSH created the RIT Computerized Information System for Students (RITCISS), the first online college information catalog in the nation. That same year, CSH also built Clipper, one of the most powerful computer systems of that time.
Since then, CSH has not slowed down. From Schedule Maker helping create a fantastic modern resource for class scheduling, to supporting many other RIT club's websites on our large student run server system, to hosting many public events such as the public hackathon CSHacks, to many ImagineRIT projects such as a Smart Dorm Room, a custom arcade cabinet, and an AI powered smart shopping shelf, Computer Science House is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and vibrant community within and outside of RIT.
The Computer Science House is looking to send a team of around twelve people to Open Sauce 2026 in San Francisco this July. Open Sauce is a major annual convention about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and showcases creative projects from all over the world. Computer Science House wants to send several of its best projects, such as a custom-built arcade cabinet and an AI-powered smart shopping shelf, to showcase the ingenuity of RIT students on a national stage. The funds that will be raised would be used to pay for transportation of the projects from RIT to San Francisco, as well as plane tickets for the team that will be exhibiting at Open Sauce 2026.
With your generous support, we can continue funding the next generation of innovators and inventors, who get more done after 2am than most people do all day.
