Who is Drawing Club?
Drawing Club is an RIT student-run organization with the goal of fostering a relaxing environment for illustrators of any discipline or experience level to express themselves through art. We are welcoming to anyone including beginner artists and students not in the College of Art & Design. Each of our weekly meetings has a new, different drawing topic.
Members are encouraged to follow it, but not required. Anyone can draw whatever they want at our meetings, and we provide supplies to do so traditionally. Near the end of our meeting, those who wish to can present their artwork to the other members. Besides our weekly meetings, we host a number of events. Sketch Drive is a tabling event where volunteer student artists fulfill quick sketch commissions for the RIT community!Members can apply to become an artist, creating a unique way of club participation. Industry Panel invites freelance artists, CAD alumni, and those with industry expertise to chat with club members, share their story, and answer questions members have. Finally, our yearly zines feature artwork by club members following a theme. They are created collaboratively with involvement from members and eboard, printed in high quality, and sold or distributed to art enthusiasts!
